Another historical landmark has been made by Hon (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu as he becomes the first Lisa Aje of Egbaland. No individual on record has ever occupied the office in the history of Egba.
The chieftaincy honour was conferred on him on December 12, 2020, by the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, CFR.
His delectable wife, Yeye Adenike Adebutu, was installed as the Erelu Lisa Aje of Egbaland.
The conferment was part of the programme marking the 15th coronation anniversary of Oba Aremu Gbadebo.
The conferment of the title on Hon Adebutu is in recognition of his immense contributions to the human capital and business development of Ogun State.
On the roll call included the Ooni of Ife and Arole Oodua, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Olowu of Owu, HRM Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu, Dagburewe of Idowa, HRM Oba Yinusa Adekoya who represented Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Oba Sikiru Adetona, Alaperu of Iperu and other prominent Nigerians.
Lado as he is fondly called, currently holds various chieftaincy titles like Baba Oba of Odo-Jobore, Sobaloju of Ilisan, Otunba Fiwajoye of Owode land, Okanlomo of Iperu-Remo, Ariwajoye of Ode-Remo & Otunba Nawo Ola of Odogbolu.
According to a politician and aspirant eyeing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Prince Femi Odulaja, the new title is well deserved.
“Lado has never shied away from putting the interests of his people first economically. He single handedly donated transformers to almost all the over 200 wards in Ogun State in order to boost and sustain the people’s commercial activities,” he said.
The 58years old first son of gaming mogul, Sir Kessington Adebutu, also has his eyes set on becoming a governor in the gateway state. Even though the eluded him in 2019 when he ran on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adebutu doesn’t seem to give up on the dream of leading his people as it is believed in some quarters that Lado is set to give his governorship ambition another shot come 2023.
The official installation ceremony for his new title will hold on Saturday, 12th December, 2020.
