Following a court ruling prohibiting Julius Abure and three other individuals from misrepresenting themselves as national officers of the party, some members of the Labour Party’s (LP) National Working Committee, under the direction of the party’s deputy national chairman (South), Lamidi Apapa, have taken control of the party’s affairs.
At the LP National Working Committee’s emergency meeting on Thursday in Abuja, the occurrence took place (NWC). According to Lamidi, Saleh Lawan is the party’s acting national secretary and he is the acting national chairman.
Before any action can be taken against the party leadership, he claims Abure and the other three must comply with the Federal Supreme Court’s decision restraining them.
Executive Council members from Ogun State, Rivers State, and Gombe State were also reinstituted at the emergency NWC meeting.
During the meeting, Lamidi also reversed the suspension of Eragbe Anslem as the National Youth Leader and Yomi Arabambi as the National Publicity Secretary.
