A 27-year old man, Yusuf Mohammed, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly raping a 13-year old boy by forcefully penetrating his anus inside his car.

Freelanews reports that the incident happened on 18th April, 2024 at Berger Suya area, Olodi Apapa, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to where he parked his car, forcefully removed his clothes, engaged him in anal sex and injured him in the process.

After the alleged dastardly act, he warned the victim not to tell anyone. However, when the victim got home, he was having severe pains and was unable to sit down, which his mother noticed and asked him what happened.

He then revealed that the suspect, Mohammed, raped him inside his car and asked him not to tell anyone about it and he was having serious pains in his anus because he did it forcefully.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and Mohammed was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 16th July, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
