Marcus Rashford Barcelona debut shines with two goals as the Spanish giants beat Newcastle 2–1 in the Champions League at St James’ Park
Rashford powered in a header from Jules Koundé’s precise cross to break the deadlock early in the second half.

He doubled the lead with a thunderous effort from the edge of the box, the ball crashing in off the underside of the bar.
The brace effectively settled the contest, despite Anthony Gordon’s late stoppage-time strike offering Newcastle faint hope.
The home side had earlier squandered a golden chance to take the lead inside ten minutes when Anthony Elanga’s cross found Gordon unmarked, only for the forward to miss from close range.
Barcelona controlled possession for much of the evening, showing composure and authority to see out the match after Rashford’s second goal.

The result leaves Barcelona in a strong position at the start of their European campaign, while Newcastle will rue missed opportunities on a night when Rashford’s brilliance stole the headlines.
