According to information reaching our correspondent, the late shepherd was killed over a misunderstanding regarding a lady the assistant shepherd was dating.
“Contrary to reports in some quarters that they were fighting over a woman, this is not true.
“It was actually the assistant pastor that was in a disagreement with another man, a member of the church, who is also currently in detention too, over a woman.
“The shepherd only insisted that Ogundipe should choose one out of all the women he was dating all over in order to resolve the issue,” the source said.
Though the assistant shepherd has confessed to the crime, the source stressed that such a dastardly act couldn’t have been executed by him alone.
“The injuries inflicted on the old man were just too much for just one person to have carried out the killing. There are stabbing marks all over his neck, and a screwdriver was rammed into his nose.
“Anyone who saw the man’s corpse before it was reeled into the mortuary yesterday would be discouraged as a pastor. He was slaughtered as if killer herdsmen carried out the job, and these guys were not Fulani,” the source sadly disclosed.
He added that more people are currently being arrested over the murder.
