The Nigerian army has refuted claims made by Sahara Reporters regarding an alleged coup plot in Nigeria, labelling the report as false.
According to Sahara Reporters, the Presidential Guards Brigade was placed on high alert due to suspicions of a coup, prompting urgent meetings with high-ranking officials including President Bola Tinubu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Reproduced here.
However, the army’s official handle on X swiftly denounced the report, sharing a screenshot with “FAKE NEWS” boldly emblazoned across it in red, discrediting the allegations made by the online news platform.
