Expressing disbelief, the father asserted that since he does not carry the sickle cell trait, it is improbable for his biological child to have the SS genotype. He further stated that his wife has the AS genotype, raising doubts about the child’s parentage.
Despite undergoing genotyping tests at various hospitals multiple times, the results consistently confirmed his AA genotype. Fueled by doubts and seeking clarity about his son’s lineage, the father resorted to legal action, bringing his wife to court.
During the court proceedings, Justice Funmi Asaolu unveiled the results of the DNA test, which shattered the father’s hopes. The DNA test conclusively revealed that he is not the biological father of Teri Oluwa.
The revelation left the father devastated, grappling with the profound implications of the shocking discovery. In response, his wife provided her version of events, maintaining that her husband is indeed the rightful father of their child.
The outcome of this poignant legal battle underscores the complexities and emotional toll associated with issues of paternity and genetic inheritance, highlighting the importance of DNA testing in resolving such disputes.
