NNPC appoints new executives in a bold move to strengthen its leadership in communications and stakeholder relations.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has named Andy Odeh as Chief Corporate Communications Officer and Morenike Adewunmi as Chief Relations Officer.

Odeh brings more than 30 years of expertise in communications, advertising, broadcasting, and oil and gas administration.

Prior to joining NNPC, he served for 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), holding senior positions across corporate communications, government relations, and sustainable development.

He is widely recognized for spearheading NLNG’s rebranding and launching the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting.

An alumnus of the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Odeh is credited with driving impactful campaigns and development initiatives, including one of Nigeria’s most successful micro-credit schemes for host communities.

Similarly, Morenike Adewunmi brings over 25 years of oil and gas industry experience, primarily with Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN).

A seasoned legal professional, she is known for her stakeholder management expertise, advocacy skills, and ability to handle complex regulatory environments.

At Shell, she held senior roles including regulatory affairs manager and government relations manager, where she liaised closely with top government institutions to secure compliance and protect operational licenses.

Adewunmi, a graduate of the Nigerian Law School and Olabisi Onabanjo University, is also respected for her leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to build robust networks in high-stakes environments.

The appointment of Odeh and Adewunmi signals NNPC’s commitment to enhancing communication, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and reinforcing its reputation as a forward-looking energy company.
