Mixed reactions as Erica’s GoFundMe amasses more than BBNaija’s N30 million prize money

A GoFundMe donation which was set up for disqualified BBNaija housemate Erica has sparked fresh reactions on social media

This comes after the donation amassed over N30 million which is the BBNaija prize money

Fans have now taken to social media condemning the donation especially since the young lady had the opportunity to turn it down just like Prince did

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) disqualified housemate, Erica Nlewedim, no doubt has one of the most loyal fan bases in the 2020 season of the reality show and this is evident in the length they are willing to go to support her.

Shortly after the young lady was booted out, a GoFundMe account was set up for her with a goal of raising N100 million for her since she lost her earnings from the show and also lost the opportunity to contend for the N85 million grand prize.

Well, in light of Laycon emerging as the winner of the season, some of Erica’s fans were quick to take to social media and brag about raising more than the prize money on her behalf.

However, this was received with mixed reactions from members of the internet community.

One displeased fan wrote:

“I have being saying this Erica is not sick why beg? The sick & dying ones in the hospital, on the street will never get 4m for an operation of 4.5m. yet we blame govt. We the youth are the problem. Set up a go fuñd me account to send children to school, you get nothing.”

Read tweets below:

Erica management should have been hustling endorsement for like brughto, wathoni among other did yet you people went for begging instead now you’ve succeeded in making pple to drag you #gofundme

#gofundme

Laycon d winner and my fellow disqualified/toxic fans

There is far difference between someone who earned his money and someone who earned through begging

Please you guys should just rest abeg let peace reign face ur fav and leave ours alone

My two cents Erica fans are quite bitter would it be so bad to say congrats your fave left cuz she wasn’t serious y’all making noise everyday yo if she’s all that y’all won’t be dragging other pips cuz y’all are just making too much noise #BBNaijaFinale #gofundme

Some of Laycon’s fans also submitted that if a GoFundMe is initiated on his behalf, they will raise more than what is being contributed for Erica.

One fan said:

Laycon is the biggest person ever in the history of Big Brother Niaja.

It’s time for #iCONsForLaycon #icons to teach the rest how #gofundme should be used, please create the Gofundme now.

It’s a celebration time.🍾🥂🍻🍸🇳🇬📯 pic.twitter.com/jGkeuedZ27

This is the truth and what some People don’t know. They think they are using their GoFundMe money to make iCONs jealous which is quite funny.Laycon is way more than the gofund me y”all Elites opened so get sense .If iCONs opens $300k, it won’t even pass a week.#gofundme #gofundme

— Samklef shield 🛡️Laycon’s Lover🔋💡💰💰 (@theeyesseer) September 28, 2020

“Erica fans hailing themselves for contributing over 30 million for their fave in months on GoFundMe. Just try the icons make we open for Laycon. You go see 150mil e go shock you.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Laycon was announced as the winner of the BBNaija season 5 reality show. The 26-year-old went home with N85 million grand prize.

Fellow finalists Dorathy emerged as first runner up while Nengi was the second runner up. Laycon racked up 60% of the votes giving Dorathy a staggering gap as she got 21.85%.
