Kidnapped victims

Two National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Uyoobong Victor Udofia from the University of Uyo, and Emmanuel Emmanuel Esudue from Akwa Ibom State University, have fallen victim to a kidnapping incident in Zamfara state.

The duo was allegedly en route to Sokoto from Akwa Ibom State when they were abducted by Fulani bandits.

According to reports on social media, Emmanuel Esudue has been shot in the leg and currently fighting for his life as he is unattended to.

The bandits have demanded a hefty sum of 4 million naira as ransom before they would release him. The urgency of the situation cannot be overstated, as the victims’ families appeal for immediate assistance.

In addition to the physical threat posed by their captors, there are concerns for the female victims who are susceptible to molestation in the hands of the atrocious criminals. This adds another layer of urgency to the situation, as their safety and well-being hang in the balance.

The families of the young Corpers are desperately appealing to the government not to abandon them to their fate. They implore authorities at all levels to intervene swiftly, ensuring the safe release of their loved ones from the clutches of these heartless bandits.

Kidnappings by criminal groups have become increasingly prevalent in Nigeria, with innocent civilians, including students and Corpers, regularly falling victim to these heinous acts.

The families of Uyoobong Victor Udofia and Emmanuel Emmanuel Esudue anxiously await any positive developments that would lead to the safe return of their loved ones.

“We urge the government and security agencies to prioritize their rescue, providing the necessary resources and manpower to facilitate their release,” they said.
