The Governor came calling to celebrate the 2022 Imeko Annual Convocation with His Eminence and indeed all devotees of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide. He was accompanied by high ranking officials of the Ogun State Government including the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, the State’s Commissioner for Youths and Sports, former Commissioner for Women Affairs and a House of Representatives candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka.

In his address at the Pastoral Residence, Governor Dapo Abiodun spoke extensively on the need for true Christians to believe in God and have absolute fate in the Almighty as stated in the scriptures. He recalled that it was only through such faith in the Almighty that he was able to emerge as the Governor of Ogun State in the first place, stating that human beings went to great and unimaginable lengths to ensure that he did not become the Governor of the State. But with absolute faith in God, he was able to overcome all odds. He described His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa as a true man of God, saying that the millions of Celestial Church faithfuls present at this year’s Imeko Convocation is an attestation to this.

Upon learning that His Eminence would be celebrating his 74th birthday and 20th Year Anniversary as Pastor and Supreme Head of the C.C.C. W/w, Governor Dapo Abiodun prayed that God should grant E.M.F. more fruitful years ahead in good health and prosperity. He then called on all members of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide to ensure that they register and get their Permanent Voters Card (P.V.C.) in readiness for the 2023 general elections. According to him, the people get the type of leaders they deserve. The Governor rounded up by assuring His Eminence that as he landed in the Celestial City, Imeko, that afternoon and seeing the mammoth crowd of worshipers at the 2022 Annual Convocation of the Church, he had resolved that fixing the Abeokuta-Imeko Road is a task that must be done. He promised to treat this with the urgency it deserves.

Responding, His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa thanked the Governor for honouring him with his presence though the invitation came at very short notice. He encouraged the Governor not to waver in his faith in God as it is only the Almighty that can give the knowledge, intelligence and wisdom that leaders need to be able to deliver good and quality leadership. He prayed that God should continue to guide and guard the Governor, as well as grant him all his heart’s desires.

Present at the occasion were leading lights of C.C.C. W/w including Most Superior Evangelist Taiwo Oshin, Most Superior Evangelist M.O. Ajao, Most Superior Evangelist S.I. Akindoyin, Most Superior Evangelist Olusegun Olarinde, Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Amos Fatusi, Superior Evangelist Obafemi Adewale (SAN) (B.O.T.
