His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege Ph.D, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), has approved the reappointment of Chief Temitayo Idowu (Otun Bobagunwa Otta) as the Chairman of the local organising committee for the 2024 Iganmode Cultural Festival.
Chief Temitayo’s reappointment is a recognition of his commendable performance and dedication to promoting the cultural heritage of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland.
Additionally, His Majesty has appointed eight other individuals known for their integrity and commitment to the Kingdom’s cause: Chief Yomi Olojeloju, Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Ahmed, Araba Ifaniyi Fasola and Hon. Solomon Bankole.
Others were Prince Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusesi, Mr. Layiwola Taiwo (Diaspora), Mr. Qudus Ajibola Ogunleye, and Princess Bukola Tiwalade Fadina.
His Majesty urged the committee members to build on the success of previous festivals, mobilise, harness, and synergise their ideas, and utilise all resources to organise a world-class event.
The Iganmode Cultural Festival, also known as Odun Omo Iganmode, is an annual event dedicated to showcasing the culture and tradition of the Aworis.
It honours ancestors and past freedom fighters, promoting economic viability, peace, and political order in Ottaland and the Awori Kingdom.
The appointments are effective immediately.
