The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed the Optimum Exposure Media Control Room for the deliberate discharge of untreated sewage into the Lagoon.
In a move to uphold environmental safety and public health, the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) sealed off the Optimum Exposure Media Control Room on Friday, January 24th, 2025, for discharging untreated sewage into the Lagos Lagoon.
This is part of a broader initiative to combat environmental degradation and ensure proper sanitation in the state.
The agency also took action against a public toilet located under the bridge by Leventis Bus Stop in Apongbon, which was found to be illegally discharging untreated sewage into the Lagoon.
In addition, the LSWMO sealed the Ebute-Ero Market Block N for channeling sewage pipes into public drains and constructing a septic tank on a walkway.
These actions are in line with the Lagos State Government’s commitment to maintaining a sustainable environment and public health, as stipulated by the Environmental Management and Protection Law (EMPL) of 2017.
The Lagos State Government has once again emphasized its zero tolerance for environmental pollution and degradation.
Citizens are urged to adopt proper hygiene practices to help maintain public health and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable Lagos.
