Former Anambra Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, attended the book launch of “OBI: The Political Change Agent” in Abuja, emphasising the need for transformational leadership, electoral integrity, and the rebirth of the Obidient Movement

Written by respected journalist Ike Abonyi, formerly of ThisDay Newspapers and New Telegraph, the book chronicles not just a political journey but serves as a broader call for transformational leadership rooted in competence, capacity, character, and compassion.

The event doubled as a symbolic “rebirth” for the Obidient Movement, described by Obi as an organic body formed by Nigerians yearning for the creation of a new Nigeria.

The keynote speaker for the occasion, Professor Sam Amadi, delivered a thought-provoking address on the “inevitability of a new Nigeria,” delving into the ‘how’ and ‘why’ such a transformation is unavoidable.

During his address, Peter Obi reiterated his consistent stance on electoral integrity, emphasising that “our votes must count and that democracy must reflect the will of the people, not the manipulation of a few.”

We must continue to believe in a new Nigeria, one built on justice, equity, and service to the people.

He stressed Nigeria’s critical juncture, asserting that “the need for sincere, accountable leadership has never been greater.”

Obi underscored that the ongoing “fight is not about personal ambition, it is about the future of our children, the integrity of our institutions, and the soul of our nation.”

He concluded with a resolute message of hope, urging continued belief in “a new Nigeria, one built on justice, equity, and service to the people.”

The Peter Obi Book launch, therefore, became a platform to reinforce his vision for a reformed nation and re-energise his grassroots support base.
