This arrest comes in response to the circulation of accusatory videos on social media, in which ZFancy was alleged to have committed heinous crimes, including rape.
These videos caused significant apprehension and distress among social media users.
In an attempt to explain his actions, ZFancy claimed that the videos were scripted and part of his effort to regain the spotlight after a break.
However, the Nigeria Police Force has emphasised that such actions, regardless of intent, have serious implications and cannot be taken lightly.
The dissemination of content that incites fear or disturbs public peace is a grave concern, and the Police remain resolute in their commitment to maintaining public safety and holding individuals accountable for their actions.
In a statement, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, warned pranksters and content creators to be law-abiding and to exercise caution with pranks and content that could pose threats to the public and jeopardise the general security of the country.
“We urge the public to remain calm as we proceed with the necessary legal actions in this case,” he added.
