The governor, inaugurates 270 affordable housing units at Egan-Igando Estate, fulfilling a long-standing promise.
[dropcap]S[/dropcap]hortly after the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced the inauguration of 270 units of two-bedroom flats at the Egan-Igando Mixed Housing Estate, Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), testimonies have started pouring in.Also read: Lagos governor calls for biodegradable packaging in the food industry
Recall that the governor recently commissioned the project, situated in the Ikeja Division of the State, which is Cluster One of the proposed 101 blocks of 846 home units, consisting of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments on a land area of 17.358 hectares.
According to the governor, it aims to provide decent accommodation for suburban dwellers.
In her video, the retired principal of Lagos State Senior Secondary, Abiola Alabi, revealed that the governor just made a reality of what she had been waiting for after 15 years of promises.
“Thank you, my amiable and hardworking governor, for making Egan Mixed Housing Estate a reality after my fifteen years of waiting. I’ve just received the keys to my allotted apartment,” she said.
During the unveiling ceremony, the governor also promised to finalise the remaining home units in Clusters Two and Three of the Egan-Igando Mixed Housing Estate to benefit more residents, regardless of their background.

“I emphasised the importance of residents taking ownership of the project and safeguarding it from vandalism. Additionally, I expressed our readiness to collaborate with the private sector to construct more affordable housing estates in Lagos State,” the governor revealed.
