Nigeria’s #EndSARS protest was an unusual one for the Nigerian government. Nigerian youths demonstrated against the deadly SARS police force.
The protests began on October 20, 2020, and extended across the country for several days, weeks, before the federal administration caved in to public pressure and disbanded the move.
The youths, on the other hand, shifted gears, opposing what they described as “poor administration by elected persons.”
Later, armed soldiers arrived, and there were accusations of gunfire, which both the soldiers and the government denied.
While the squabble was going on, DJ Switch took to InstaLive, claiming to be broadcasting live from the Lekki Toll Gate, the site of the Lagos chapter of the protests.
She eventually went underground, claiming that the government was after her life because the event was being broadcast live on television.
Meanwhile, DJ Switch comes back two days after the first anniversary of the protests.
According to reports, she is planning to attend the memorial march at the Lekki Toll Gate on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
