Author and social media commentator, Reno Omokri, has added his voice to the trending issues of a woman who was disgraced by one of the top Pentecostal pastors in Nigeria for allegedly lying during her testimony last Sunday.

According to a viral video online, Anyim Vera, a member of Pastor Paul Enenche’s Dunamis International Gospel Centre, got more than what she bargained for when she took to the altar to share what, to her, was a break from a generational curse in her family.
She claimed that despite several attempts and challenges, she was now the only graduate in her family.
“I want to appreciate God for my life and family. And I want to thank God for using mummy and daddy for our sake. It all happened that I was trying to school in the National Open University (of Nigeria) before I came to Dunamis. There was a lot of things that were happening in life and family. From my father’s side and my mother’s side, nobody is a graduate. They only ended up in primary or secondary schools. Praise the Lord! But when God remembered me, I got a job and I was working and schooling at the same time,” Anyim said.
She claimed that the previous day she graduated from the law program.
When asked what her qualification was, she responded BSc in Law. The visibly disgusted Pastor Enenche reprimanded her and accused her of lying.
“So the testimony is a lie; there’s nothing like BSc in Law. You either have LLB or BA. The testimony is a lie; please go back to your seat,” the pastor said.
In his reaction, Omokri wondered how much Christianity has degenerated where a pastor can openly disgrace church members without verification.
“They told the man who did not win an election that he won, and informed the woman who graduated that she did not graduate.
“That is why Israel has an Iron Dome that can protect 100,000 people from missiles at once, and Nigeria has a Glory Dome that seats 100,000 at once but cannot protect them from lies.
“This is what we have turned Christianity into in Nigeria!” Omokri wrote.
