Renowned author and social commentator, Reno Omokri, has stirred up a storm of controversy with his recent statement on the ideal age of a wife for a man.
In a series of tweets, Omokri argued that the perfect age calculator of a wife to man should be the man’s age divided by two plus seven.

Invariably, a forty year old man should marry a twenty seven year old woman. This, he believes, is a crucial factor in maintaining a healthy sexual relationship within marriage.
Omokri’s comments were met with mixed reactions from the public, with some expressing support for his views, while others criticized them as outdated and sexist.
The discussion quickly gained momentum on social media platforms, leading to a heated debate on the appropriateness of age gaps in relationships.
Omokri pointed to biblical examples, claiming that God intentionally designed Adam to be older than Eve when he created marriage in Genesis 2:24. He also referenced the age difference between Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 17:17, where Abraham was ten years older than his wife.
He wrote:
Many people criticise me for saying that a healthy monogamous marriage is more likely when there is a healthy age gap between the husband and the wife and are asking me for Scriptural authority. First of all, when God created marriage in Genesis 2:24, He ensured that Adam was older than Eve. Secondly, Abraham was ten years older than Sarah-Genesis 17:17.
I could go on and on with biblical references, but suffice it to say that after the fall of man, men and women were punished differently-Genesis 3:16-19. As a result, different things happened to their bodies when man fell and lost perfection. One of the differences is that their biological clocks were no longer in equal alignment. Men retained virility much longer than women.
Thus, if you marry a woman your age or slightly younger than you, your libido will remain at its peak when she starts to reduce in libido. And though not the only purpose, intercourse is, however, one of the biblical main goals for marriages-1 Corinthians 7:5.
So, what is a recommended age gap? Now, this is just an opinion. I favour the Victorian standard, which is also used in Islam. Divide your age by two and then add seven. So, for example, if you are a forty-year-old man, you divide your age by two and get twenty. Then you add seven. Meaning that the ideal age for your wife should be twenty-seven.
