Residents of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA are kicking against what they term as last minute election runs by the Commissioner for Tourist, Arts and Culture, Hon. Pharm. Uzamat Akibile Yusuf, over grading of roads in area.
In a memo shared with Freelanews, it was claimed that the grading of these roads was to make ‘life more meaningful to the entire community’ as promised by the commissioner during a previous meeting she had with Community Development Council of the LCDA, comprising CDA leaders, CDC, at Ajasa Town Hall, but the residents thought otherwise.
According to the details of the memo forwarded by the joint community development association chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, the commissioner will only be providing the trucks for purchase of gravels needed for the project, while interested CDAs would buy the gravels. Not only that, the CDC would facilitate the exercise and provide the logistics required for the programme.

Aside from seeing the offer as ridiculous, many questioned the propriety of such project when the election is just few days away.
One responded, “With due respect, this measure sounds very funny. This kind of 11th hour service and panicky measure cannot help the communities.”
Many CDA chairmen claimed the message was broadcast to them late last night around 11.44pm, which means the supposed project will hold for two days beginning from Wednesday this week.
“I am seriously annoyed and provoked,” another anonymous resident pained.
