As if the late Senator Buruji Kashamu was aware of his impending exit, the Lotto mogul cum politician has engaged his perceived political adversaries on how to reconcile as the former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, revealed his last encounter with him.
Recall that Freelanews reported the late politician died due to complication of the ravaging COVID-19 in a Lagos hospital.
In a note revealing how the dead politician spent his last days, the former governor said, “I will appeal that we do not speak ill of the dead.
“Buruji turned around towards the end and actually sent a very strong delegation to see me early this week, from his sick bed on the way forward.”
This, however, wouldn’t be the first time the former governor had been magnanimous and benevolent in forgiveness.
In 2018, specifically June 5, the duo with Senator Ben Bruce met in Abuja with a view to resolving the issues that have bedeviled the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the years.
At a closed door meeting, which lasted for over three hours, the two major figures in the face-off, OGD and Kashamu, discussed all the issues and resolved them.
Consequently, they have agreed to work together in the interest of the party and the good people of Ogun State.
The move that many party stalwarts described as “a welcome development that will gladden the heart of all and sundry” back then.
The chairman of Kresta Laurel, an Electro-mechanical Engineering company, and a political juggernaut in Ogun State, therefore, appealed that the living should forgive the dead and called on all politicians in the state to respect the dead.
“Let us be measured with our comments,” he concluded.
May his soul rest in peace.
