Accountant-General, Ahmed Idris, has secretly married a 16 year-old teenager in Kano.

The government official allegedly enticed a young girl and her parents with expensive possessions in order to have her for himself, which led to the secret marriage.

In a disclosed narration, a relation of the young girl had revealed what had transpired between the AGF and the family of the girl, claiming to be a resident of Dorawa in Kano State.

Husna, who recently turned 16, is said to be the daughter of his late aunt, according to Nura Bagudu who proceeded to narrate how the event turned out, he said, “Husna’s dad, a Nigerian Customs officer remarried after the death of my sister, Husna’s mum. The girl since she was two years old has been staying with our mother, that’s her grandmother. She stayed there until recent when the Accountant General of the Federation came seeking for her hand in marriage by every means possible.

According to him; “the Accountant General of the Federation, told one Amina who happens to be a family friend that he needed a young fresh girl that doesn’t know anything in life and that has not started higher education and that was how the Amina introduced him and brought him to my father’s house in Kano. My father is the grandfather to the said girl because her mother is late. She is my elder sister’s only daughter before she passed away.

Prior to his visit Ahmed Idris had insisted that he wants to marry the girl immediately under the pretense of a visit, which was immediately turned down by the family.

“He the Accountant General of the Federation then went on to directing her father to look for a house of his choice in Abuja and Kano and that he (Idris) would buy for them.”

He further claimed that the AGF had through the aid of the DSS ensured that the wedding celebrations stayed secret as no video coverage were allowed.

Bagudu said: “This is our late sister’s daughter by name Husna; she’s just sixteen, not long that she clocked sixteen years old but it’s very unfortunate that a lady called Amina was the one that linked or brought the Accountant-General to our house in order to seek her hand in marriage.

Bagudu, who leaked the proceedings in an interview, said the Accountant-General bribed various media organizations they had previously approached for assistance and asked them to decline the family’s request to expose his atrocities.

“He bribed this girl with over N200 million in gold, iPhones, purchasing her automobiles, and giving her millions of naira – all to get her attention.
He began seeing other people in order to learn more about the girl’s family, and then he married her on the spot.

“There was no investigation just because he is the Accountant General of the Federation. Why are things happening in this country like this? He even told the girl to go and look for any house of her choice in Abuja, that he is ready to purchase it for her.

“He is spending the government money and every media house we go to report him, he pays them not to air or report the story. Please help us for justice to be done. This girl is just sixteen years old,” Bagudu added.

He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to kindly look into the matter, and not allow it to fade off as if nothing happens. Bagudu accused Idris of using his office to take advantage of the family.
