Ladi Adebutu’s counsel, Goddy Uche, SAN, has passionately argued for the removal of Dapo Abiodun from office as the privileged governor of Ogun State. With a resolute tone, he declared that heaven would not fall if the tribunal decided to act in favour of Adebutu.
The counsel began by seeking the tribunal’s intervention in the allocation of votes by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He contended that the votes allocated to Abiodun were nothing but wasted votes, as they were not rightfully earned.

He fervently asserted that the tribunal should declare Ladi Adebutu as the rightful winner of the election or order a rerun in the 99 Polling Units where unlawful votes were attributed to Abiodun.
With conviction in his voice, Adebutu’s counsel emphasized the importance of justice and fairness in the electoral process. He urged the court to grant all the reliefs sought by Ladi Adebutu, as they were crucial for upholding the principles of democracy.
As the courtroom filled with anticipation, the counsel painted a vivid picture of the consequences of ignoring the alleged irregularities in the election.
He argued that allowing unlawful votes to determine the outcome would undermine the people of Ogun State’s trust in the electoral system.
Throughout his final address, Adebutu’s counsel presented compelling evidence and strong legal arguments to support his case.
Now, all eyes turned to the election tribunal, eagerly awaiting their ruling. Would justice prevail, and Ladi Adebutu be declared the legitimate winner? Or would the tribunal dismiss the claims, leaving Dapo Abiodun to continue his term as the elected official?

- In alternative to order a rerun in the 99PUs after deduction of all unlawful votes credited to the 2nd respondents.
On Subpoenaed Witness
A recent Court of Appeal judgement was released last. My Lord, all the authorities quoted by my colleagues are now old laws. This is the last week in Kano.
On Exhibits
I insisted you should put it down you should put it on record it should be assumed demonstrated and read and you did.
The ballot papers of invalid votes numbering 40,000+ were brought to the court with marks. The court should deduct this.
On Expert
Neither INEC nor Respondent brought their statistician and Forensic experts to counter ours, they only relied on oral condemnation when INEC did not bring a single document to challenge the CTC got from them
Witnesses
We do not rely on only PVC-collected records we also rely on all records and documents tendered
BVAS
If BVAS were not used, how did INEC generate its data
Incidence Form(EC40G)
The report was written by INEC PU officials, offloaded and uploaded. INEC confirms there were gunshots and ran away
Video
APC thugs were captured on the video and were shown to the court. Thugs on bike
INEC Defence
INEC relied on the petitioner who brought INEC staff and got CTC of the document. They were busy defending Dapo Abiodun. INEC never defended nor brought any valuable evidence. They said WE REST OUR CASE ON THE PETITIONER
We called 94 witnesses and all gave very credible evidence.
For us to call 49,000 witnesses as stated in their address. THE LAW DOES NOT COMMAND THE IMPOSSIBILITY.
BVAS
The law does not command such. What the law says it’s a document. BVAS is not a document. There is a difference between a computer-generated document and a computer
Signing
You cannot identify a document in piecemeal. We are talking of an election document duly signed.
We urge the court to grant all the reliefs sought by the Petitioner.
My Lordship, do the needful, the heaven will not fall.
