SDNON, LASWA forge alliance for collaborative media engagement

The Lagos State Waterways Authority(LASWA) recently had the honor of hosting esteemed members from the Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON), a network comprising seasoned journalists.

The visit served as an opportunity for both parties to engage and explore potential collaborations.

Led by LASWA’s General Manager, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, the agency showcased its commitment to ensuring the safety and efficiency of water transportation in Lagos.

Emmanuel provided insights into LASWA’s innovative initiatives that have significantly reduced accidents on Lagos inland waterways.

Expressing eagerness for collaboration, the general manager highlighted LASWA’s openness to working closely with the media to further enhance public awareness and understanding of their activities.

During the visit, the SDNON members had the privilege of touring LASWA facilities, with a special focus on the iconic monitoring room. This central hub allows real-time monitoring and data collation for all terminals across Lagos, showcasing LASWA’s dedication to leveraging technology for effective oversight.

Following a productive interaction and a memorable photo session, the SDNON team pledged to contribute to LASWA’s visibility in the media space. The journalists expressed their commitment to highlighting LASWA’s accomplishments and initiatives, ensuring that the public remains well-informed about the agency’s crucial role in water transportation.

According to Emmanuel, LASWA looks forward to a strengthened partnership with SDNON, believing that increased media visibility will foster a better understanding and appreciation of the agency’s efforts among Lagosians and beyond.
