Actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, announced the nominees for the 8th Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) with Daniel Etim Effiong, the film director, via a live stream on Saturday night as Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, and Mildred Okwo are up for the AMVCA 2022.

Among the entries that made the nominees list are the on-screen performances, directorial turns, set design choices, song selections, and styling executions that seized the filmmaking community’s attention for the season.

This year’s nominees are of 33 categories, including the newly introduced ‘Best Online Social Content Creator’.

Akindele is up in at least six categories including ‘Best Costume Designer’, ‘Best Actress in a Comedy’, ‘Best Movie W/Africa’, ‘Best TV Series (Comedy/Drama’, ‘Best Africa Magic Original Comedy Series’, and ‘Best Overall Movie’.

Isime is nominated for ‘Best Actress in a Comedy’ and ‘Best Actress in a Drama’.

In turn, Mildred Okwo is nominated for ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Overall Movie’.

It is understood that an eight-day schedule of activities will precede the anticipated awards night, set for May 14.
