Senator Gbenga Daniel extends condolence visit to family of late Engr. Philip Bolude Oyebolu

Senator Gbenga Daniel, a prominent political figure and former governor of Ogun State, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit today to the family of the late Ven. Engr. Philip Bolude Oyebolu at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Ven. Engr. Oyebolu, born on June 16, 1930, was a distinguished individual with an illustrious career.

He attended Government College, Ibadan, and furthered his studies at the University of Edinburgh, obtaining a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1958. His professional journey led him to work with Marconi in the UK, and upon returning to Nigeria in 1961, he contributed significantly to the Department of Post and Telecommunications.

Engr. Oyebolu’s career highlights include rising to the position of Senior Engineer in 1965 and later joining the professional products Division of Phillips Nigeria Limited.

In 1975, he founded his consulting company, Messrs Molecular Consultants, specializing in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Services. He retired from the firm in 1990.

A distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Institution of Electrical Engineers (U.K.), and the Nigerian Association of Health Engineering, Engr. Oyebolu served as President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Vice-President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He later transitioned to the clergy and held positions such as Vicar in various Anglican churches, including St. Batholomew Anglican Church, Surulere, and Anglican Church of Pentecost, Festac Town.

Engineer Oyebolu was also a foundation Fellow of The Nigerian Academy of Engineering, showcasing his significant contributions to the engineering field.

Senator Gbenga Daniel, acknowledging the profound legacy of Engr. Oyebolu, expressed his condolences to the family and lauded the late engineer’s remarkable achievements.

The visit aimed to provide comfort and solidarity to the grieving family as they navigate through this period of loss.

“The late Engr. Philip Bolude Oyebolu’s impact on the engineering profession and his devoted service in the Anglican Church will be remembered with reverence.

“May his soul rest in peace,” Otunba Daniel stated.
