Afrobeats star Seun Kuti has raised doubts about the authenticity of Forbes’ list naming the world’s five richest men, which includes French fashion mogul Bernard Arnault and American businessmen Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Larry Ellison.
According to Forbes, these individuals have seen their wealth soar to a combined total of $869 billion since the COVID-19 lockdown.
However, Kuti took to his social media page to express skepticism about the list, dismissing it as “fake” and questioning the feasibility of accumulating such vast wealth through hard work alone.
“The world’s 5 richest men since lockdown have increased their wealth to a combined total of 869bn US dollars,” Kuti stated. “That means they can spend 1 million dollars a day for the next 476 years. No one can work that hard. We have been lied to.”
