The issues regarding the stool of Iruland took a new dimension recently when the sons of the late Oniru of Iruland, His Royal Highness Idowu Abiodun Oniru, were attacked and beaten up.

Recall Freelanews reported how two videos made the headlines last week; one showing Prince Tijani Oniru slapped for his indiscretions toward the newly installed Oniru of Iruland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal (Abisogun II) and Prince Sola Oniru being beaten up at the palace when he went with his brother, Prince Demola, to demand why Prince Tijani was so treated.

But while the late Oniru family may not be happy about their new luck, the people of Iruland felt otherwise.

In a new video above made available to our reporter, the indigenes were not only seen jubilating about the change of guard in the community but also that freedom from oppression had finally come.

The relief on their faces couldn’t be measured as they also called on the government to quickly come to their aid the late Oniru princes were alleged to operate killer squad.

Many were seen relating the wickedness they have suffered at the hands of the former Oniru and his princes, especially the slapped Prince Tijani, who was alleged to have slapped old women in the community on countless occasion.

In November 2019 , the race for who became the next Oniru of Iruland after the demise of His Royal Highness Idowu Abiodun Oniru was neck to neck between Aremo Segun Oniru, the eldest son of the immediate past Oba Oniru from the Akiogun Ruling House and Hakeem Ajasa, from Abisogun Ruling House and a former Chief Security Officer of the current Speaker of the House of Representatives before the kingmakers finally settled for Oba Lawal.
