Lagos State Police on Tuesday arraigned a 20-year-old man, Oluwadamilare Adebayo, who allegedly attempted to steal from a branch of Keystone Bank.

The defendant is standing trial on a count charge of attempted stealing.

Adebayo, whose address was not provided, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the prosecutor, Insp Donjour Perezi, the defendant committed the offense on Dec. 31, 2021, and Jan.1, 2022, at a branch of Keystone Bank located at Ogudu, Lagos State.

He said that the defendant attempted to commit theft by entering the bank premises to steal.

Perezi said that the defendant was caught by the bank’s security guards.

He noted that the offense contravened Section 406 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O. M. Ajayi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
