TikTok girl found dead in Lokoja after visiting a lounge. Emotional tributes pour in as Christiana Olatunji’s death triggers controversy and public concern

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] TikTok girl found dead in Lokoja has triggered an emotional outpouring and widespread speculation. Christiana Olatunji, aged 21, was discovered lifeless in a roadside gutter on the morning of 26th June 2025.

Her final known location was a popular lounge in the city, where she had gone with a friend.

The tragic discovery has left residents of Kogi State in disbelief, as details about her final moments remain scarce. Christiana, originally from the state, was said to be a recent graduate, having completed her tertiary education in 2024.

According to those familiar with her, she was an energetic and stylish young woman who had a growing presence on social media, especially TikTok.

Her last post on the app was made on 23rd June 2025, just three days before her body was found. In the video, she appeared cheerful and relaxed, giving no hint of the danger she might have been in.

That final post has now become a rallying point for her followers, many of whom are expressing grief and disbelief.

However, not everyone is focusing solely on mourning. Online users who browsed her TikTok profile have begun speculating about her lifestyle.

Some have described her as a “runs girl”, based on the types of content she posted and the locations she frequently tagged.

Though there is no official confirmation of such claims, a voice note from a close friend has added fuel to the fire.

In the audio clip that has since gone viral, the friend expressed concern about Christiana’s choices. “She was always going to lounges and meeting men,” the voice says. “I warned her, but she wouldn’t listen. Now this has happened.”

The police in Lokoja have opened an investigation into the incident. So far, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the friend who accompanied Christiana to the lounge has not been revealed.

An officer who spoke under the condition of anonymity confirmed that the body showed signs of being dumped but declined to elaborate pending a full forensic report.

Reactions from family and friends have ranged from sorrow to anger. “She was not perfect, but she was human,” said a cousin of the deceased. “People are too quick to judge. No one deserves to die and be thrown away like rubbish.”

Activists and women’s rights advocates have also weighed in, calling for justice and urging the public to avoid harmful speculation.

“There is a disturbing pattern where women who die under mysterious circumstances are immediately blamed for their own deaths,” said Ngozi Umeadi, a local advocate. “Whether she was a content creator, a student, or anything else, she deserved protection.”

Christiana’s death has renewed conversations about the safety of young women, particularly those navigating the nightlife and entertainment scene in urban areas.

Concerns have also been raised about the role of social media in creating unrealistic lifestyles and exposing users to potential dangers.

Despite the noise online, many have chosen to remember her as a vibrant spirit with dreams of a better future. “She just wanted to enjoy life and make something of herself,” said one of her former classmates. “She never deserved this end.”
