A yet-to-be-identified woman has died after jumping off Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge, despite swift rescue efforts by marine police

The incident happened around 4 p.m., prompting a swift response from marine police officers stationed nearby.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman was seen standing on the bridge moments before the tragic leap.
Authorities are yet to determine her identity or the circumstances leading to the incident.
Following the distress call, marine police deployed rescue teams to recover the woman from the water. Unfortunately, she was unresponsive when retrieved.
Officials have since launched an investigation to uncover the reasons behind the incident, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
