A tragic wedding in Jigawa State turned deadly after a bride allegedly poisoned the food, leaving the groom critically ill and a guest dead.

The incident, which has shocked the local community, left the groom critically ill and resulted in the death of one guest.

Eyewitnesses suggested that the bride’s actions may have been driven by personal motives, although the precise reasons for the alleged poisoning remain unclear.
The incident unfolded during what was supposed to be a joyous occasion, turning the celebration into a scene of horror.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Jigawa State, Shi’isu Adam, confirmed that an investigation was underway.
He revealed that the police had received reports that the bride had intentionally tainted the food served to wedding guests, leaving the groom in a critical condition.
“The bride has been arrested, along with another female suspect, and both are currently being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department,” Adam explained.
He further assured the public that justice would be pursued in this case. “We are doing everything in our power to ensure that justice is served,” he added.
Following the poisoning, all but one of the wedding attendees who consumed the contaminated food have been discharged from the hospital. The identity of the deceased guest has yet to be revealed by the authorities.
As the investigation continues, Adam confirmed that the police are working diligently to uncover the facts surrounding the tragic event. “We urge the public to remain calm and assured that justice will be served,” he concluded.
The identities of the groom and other victims have not been disclosed at this time. Local authorities have called for the community to allow the investigation to run its course.
