Tolu first arrived in the UK as a student from Nigeria, where he met a white woman with two children. Their relationship grew, she became pregnant, and he moved into her apartment.
However, tension soon surfaced. The first major conflict arose when he attempted to discipline one of her children, which she opposed, citing racial concerns.
The second came during a Nigerian movie, when she remarked that without the UK, Tolu would still be living a similar life in Nigeria a comment that sparked another heated argument.
Following advice from friends, Tolu moved out. His life took a positive turn he passed his English exams, secured employment as a registered nurse, and eventually built a house.
On hearing of his success, the woman reached out to him again. They reconciled, rekindled intimacy, and she became pregnant once more. She later moved into his new home with her children, their child together, and Tolu.
Peace seemed restored until the shocking twist. The woman reported to police that Tolu raped her.
He was arrested, barred from entering his own home for her “safety,” and suspended from his nursing role since he was arrested at work.
Now homeless and jobless, UK-based Nigerian nurse Tolu is left calling on friends for support while he faces a looming legal battle that could cost him 17 years of his life.
