In the world of showbiz, drama is never far away, and recent events at the exclusive club of former singer, Oluseyi Ademoye, aka Sheyman, have once again brought this to the forefront.
Sheyman, owner of a popular club in town, who was once a musician found himself in the midst of controversy as he was forced to cancel a highly anticipated show at his club.
It all started with DJ Bombastic’s regular Retro Thursday gig, which was set to feature The Remedies, a group comprising Tony Tetuila, Idris, and Eddie Montana. However, with Eddie unavailable, it was left to Tony and Idris to take the stage.
Sheyman had paid both artistes for their performances, and everything seemed to be going smoothly as promotions for the show were underway.
All seemed well as preparations for the show were underway, with Tony and Idris gearing up for their performances and promotional activities in full swing.
However, trouble soon arose when a new generation artiste, one belonging to the reigning big 4 in the Nigerian music scene, reportedly feeling slighted by Idris on social media recently, issued a stern warning to the organiser, threatening repercussions if the show went ahead as planned.
Caught in a dilemma, Sheyman had no choice but to heed the warning and cancel the show at the last minute, much to the disappointment of fans and attendees.
A show expected to commence at 11pm last Thursday was allegedly cancelled around 8:30 pm on the night of the event, left many in shock and disbelief.
Tony did his part; he showed up, and Idris also pitched in to promote the event.
“I thought I would see him,” King Kong thought to himself.
Tony Tetuila was eventually the biggest winner of the night as King Kong patted him saying, “You’re good man, you’re good man!”
Anyway, King Kong of African music rewarded You Don Hit My Car crooner with N10mln and $2,000 cash!
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking; what about Idris?
Well, Idris seems to be hiding from King Kong despite all the social media braggadocio.
According sources, King Kong actually attended the event to ensure that his warning was adhered to.
Idris is not new to controversy though. Recall that his popularity took a hit when he couldn’t control himself against the popular American rapper, 50 Cent in the past.
I’m sure this is not the end of this film. Stay tuned.
