Speaking in an interview with Seun Oloketuyi on YouTube, Chukwuka explained that the incident took place while he was on a movie set in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The attackers allegedly mistook him for the father of Nigerian artist Naira Marley, who had been accused by some of being connected to Mohbad’s death.
“A group of men attacked me on a film set in Ikorodu, claiming that my son was responsible for Mohbad’s death,” Chukwuka recounted.
He clarified the misunderstanding, asserting that he had no familial ties to Naira Marley.
“I informed them that I’m not the father of Naira Marley. I let them know that my home is Delta State and he is from Abeokuta in Ogun State,” the actor said.
Chukwuka also expressed his thoughts on the accusations against Naira Marley, suggesting that the backlash against the singer was partly an attempt by some individuals to gain attention and popularity.
**“I understood from the beginning that blaming Naira Marley for the death of Mohbad was an attack on his personality.
But because it was finally their chance, some people wanted to take advantage of the situation to become famous,”** he stated.
The death of Mohbad has sparked widespread outrage and speculation, with many fans and celebrities calling for a thorough investigation.
