Nigerian X (Twitter) users have reacted after the official account of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) made some posts in some local languages to celebrate Nigeria’s win at the 2023 CAF Awards.

Recall that on Monday night, Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen and Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala were named the CAF Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year, respectively.

Also, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was named the best women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, while the Super Falcons emerged as the best Women’s team on the continent.

Oshoala extended her dominance on the continent, winning her sixth Women’s Player of the Year. Paris FC Women shot-stopper Nnadozie completed the trio of Nigerian awardees on the night in Marrakesh, Morocco.

CAF, in felicitating with Nigerians and the women’s team, made a series of posts on their official X handle in Yoruba, Igbo and, pidgin languages.

One of the tweets in Yoruba read, “Mo so fun yin o #CAFAwards2023”

In another tweet in Igbo, CAF wrote, “Osi na nwata buru ogaranya 1! Inspiring the next generation with greatness.”

Tweeting in pidgin, “Naija full ground, Naija gather dey, Naija no dey carry last!”
