The Nigerian superstar will headline the CANEX 2025 Mega Concert on Friday, September 5, in Algiers, Algeria, according to statements from event organisers released on September 2.
This high-profile performance marks a significant moment for the pan-African event, blending the best of African defence industries with cultural showcases from across the continent.
Organisers have called Wizkid’s inclusion a “key highlight” of the festival, emphasizing his global appeal and capacity to attract diverse audiences.
“Renowned for his infectious Afrobeat rhythms, chart-topping hits, and magnetic stage presence, Wizkid has become one of Africa’s most celebrated music icons,” said CANEX officials.
The festival will feature top-tier performers from South Africa, Congo, Kenya, and Algeria, making it one of the most anticipated musical events in Africa this year.
While not yet confirmed by CANEX, social media is buzzing with speculation that Wizkid may earn up to ₦6.4 billion ($4.2 million) for the performance.
Posts from platforms like Instagram’s @tooxclusive_com and X’s @Jahboy claim this could be his highest-ever performance fee.
If accurate, this would add to an already impressive resume.
In 2025 alone, Wizkid reportedly earned $3 million for his AIA Sound Festival appearance in Denmark and an estimated $1 million from his Madison Square Garden concert in New York.
His previous high-ticket performances at London’s O2 Arena and State Farm Arena have also seen him earning close to $900,000 per show.
From headlining royal weddings in India to global sold-out stadiums, Wizkid continues to bridge continents with his Afrobeat sound.
