‘Woman of the Year’ Funmi Ayinke bags excellence award in Abuja

It was another night of glory for Engr. Amb. Dr. Fumilayo Ayinke Waheed – Adekojo as she bagged the ‘Woman of the Year’ Award at the Nigeria News’ Awards of Excellence in Abuja recently.

The event, which was held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the NAF Conference Centre in the nation’s capital city, had in attendance dignitaries such as the the governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, former senate president and Secretary of Government of Federation, Senator Ayim Pius Ayim, the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and his Nasarawa State counterpart, Engr. A.A Sul.

Others present at the event were the Controller General of Custom, Col. Ahmed Ibrahim Alli, HRH Alh. Abdulrahman Farouk, the Majem Daura Hakimi, Rogogo, Special Adviser to the President on Media, Femi Adesina, and other eminent personalities.

Engr. Waheed – Adekojo, while being presented the award by Senator Ayim, dedicated the award to every Nigerian woman both home and in diaspora.

Funmi Ayinke Waheed Adekojo, a woman of versatile talents and great discipline came into national consciousness for her immense humanitarian work through the Funmi Ayinke Foundation, targeting Nigerian youths, the girl child and the disadvantaged in society.

She recently joined the music ministry with her record label, the Funmi Ayinke Music Label, combined with her thriving social media activities, as an avenue to reach the most disadvantaged youths and other less privileged Nigerians.
