‘World Heart’s Day’ Abuja hosts Kanu Nwankwo’s disease awareness campaign

In the space of 21 years Kanu Nwankor’s foundation has funded a recorded ranging number of over 538 successful heart surgeries after it’s establishment in the year 2000.

It was known that after the success of his surgery the talented sportsman was inspired to reach out to those who might have similar health conditions or another heart challenges but are unable to access the medical care in Nigeria and other African countries the foundation is on its arrangement to celebrate this year’s “World Heart’s Day” which will be taking place in Abuja the capital of Nigeria.

The events Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chairman, Mo Muhammed Mustapha, narrated that the theme for 2021 is titled: Walk with Nwankwo Kanu and will expectedly take place on September 29th in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has earmarked September 29th annually to celebrate World Heart’s Day with the aim of increasing awareness of cardiovascular diseases and how to control them to negate their global impact.

Entertainment celebrities, past and present Super Eagles players are expected to take part in the five to 10km walk in Abuja.

The walking exercise is expected to start from the Force headquarters to Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Former Nigerian Internationals including Victor Ikpeba and Emmanuel Emenike; alongside Nollywood stars including Kenneth Okonkwo, Francis Duru, Ali Nuhu and Sani Danja are all expected to take part in the exercise.
