Nigerian singer Young Jonn has revealed that he became an artiste by accident. In a recent interview with Revolt, the producer-turned-singer explained that he never planned on becoming an artist but that life led him down this path.
“I never really planned to be an artist, but life played out,” he said.
Discussing his transition from producer to artiste, Jonn noted, “It was a learning process. It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind, and business. It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it.”
While finding his footing as an artist, Young Jonn mentioned that Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Lil Kesh were sources of inspiration for him. Early in his career, Jonn worked with Olamide’s YBNL Nation and produced multiple songs for Lil Kesh, Olamide, and other artists on the label.
