‘9ice scandal’ What have we gained?

One of the problems of colonial system is what just happened to 9ice. Someone came and said it’s a criminal offense to have more than one wife and we didn’t ask any questions. Nobody remembers to tell whoever that cares that there was no problem with more than one wife in the USA until the anti-bigamy law of 1890 that criminalized such practice in American society, then it spread to the other parts of the world and Africans being in their habitual thoughtlessness swallowed everything.

The same way someone said democracy is the best form of government and we also didn’t ask any questions. We were made to disrespect and disregard our systems and natural lifestyle. We became transplanted without leaving our natural habitat, we became strangers to our own world. And to now finish the already confused black African stock, came the age of social media. A place where people come to tell the world the size and colour of their underwear. A place where u come to propose to a lady you have dated and slept with for five years and she still weeps like a marriage proposal from a boyfriend of five years appears strange with a stupid question of will you marry me and some sick saxophonists at the background and a couple of confused individuals cheering and screaming “say yes say yes”. Has being married to one man and woman stopped infidelity? Has democracy been profitable to Africa?

My own question is what disorder has polygamy created in African society? What Europeanization of black Africa did was to turn men and women to idiots and caricature of themselves. At one stage in each linage of Yoruba land, our grandfathers and great grandfathers had wives and they coped.

Let me quickly say this here to anybody that cares to think a little bit deep. What exactly have black Africans gained from loosing our culture and identity? We lost our culture, religion, politics, family life etc and in place of these we got democracy laden with corruption, got unquenchable thirst for material things, prostitution even within worship centers of religions introduced by those who enslaved our minds.
