In a swift and decisive move, the Rivers State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough by apprehending two alleged robbers, Ikenna Obiko and Isichukwu Eneji, in Port Harcourt.

As per Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State command, the suspects were apprehended while riding a motorcycle in Port Harcourt’s Olu Obasanjo neighbourhood.

Reports indicate that these individuals have been preying on unsuspecting victims inside parked cars, utilizing specialized keys to carry out their nefarious activities.

In a statement released by the police, it was revealed, “They specialized in robbing victims of their money and property inside parked cars using specialized keys. They also admitted to stealing parked motorcycles by using ignition wires to start them, as well as robbing unsuspecting bank customers of their money after withdrawals at banks and ATM centres. The two robbery suspects were recently involved in a robbery case involving an Indomie noodles vehicle, where they took N100,000 from the driver.”

Further investigations uncovered a string of criminal activities attributed to the duo, including the theft of motorcycles and robberies in various locations within the state.

Both suspects, currently detained at the Borokiri Police Station, hail from Oguta in Imo State. Ikenna, married with two children, and Isichukwu, married with three children, confessed to relocating to Port Harcourt amidst the unrest in Imo State and other parts of the South East.

Ikenna claimed to have been influenced into crime by a deceased community leader, while Isichukwu attributed his criminal knowledge to his late uncle.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of the Rivers State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of residents in Port Harcourt and beyond.
