Former PDP Lagos governorship candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), has officially joined the APC and was welcomed by Lagos APC leaders in Saudi Arabia
[dropcap]D[/dropcap]r Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely known as Jandor, the former prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, has officially formalised his move to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Freelanews recalls that Dr Adediran, who stood as the PDP’s governorship candidate for Lagos State in the 2023 elections, initially defected to the APC in March of this year.
In a statement released on Thursday in Lagos by his spokesperson, Pastor Gbenga Ogunleye, Dr Adediran revealed that he received a warm welcome from the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), led by the esteemed Prince Tajudeen Olusi.
“In a significant display of unity, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, Jandor, was warmly received by the Lagos State GAC Chairman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi; Chief Rabiu Oluwa, the Badagry Division Apex Leader of APC and a fellow GAC member; Senator Ganiu Olanrewaju Solomon; and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro,” Dr Adediran stated.
The welcoming reception took place in the holy city of Saudi Arabia, during the ongoing Umrah pilgrimage undertaken by the political figures.
“This meeting, held in the sacred city, was a symbolic moment for engagement between key Lagos political stakeholders, emphatically underlining the paramount importance of unity within the party,” Dr Adediran further added.
He also stated, “This significant encounter clearly demonstrates our shared and unwavering commitment to the continued progress and enduring unity of Lagos State, strongly highlighting the lasting values of collective responsibility and effective synergy in order to advance the ruling party’s overarching vision for the state.”
Freelanews also reminds the public that Dr Adediran officially resigned from the PDP on March 3rd, citing issues of indiscipline and perceived betrayal by key leaders within the party as the primary reasons for his departure.

Dr Adediran, who was previously the driving force behind the Lagos4Lagos Movement, also has a history within the APC, having been a former governorship aspirant for the party before his initial defection to the PDP in 2021.
