Out of the 1,955,069 candidates who participated in the examination, over 1.5 million (75%) scored below the 200 mark.

According to the data provided by JAMB on Monday, only 420,415 candidates achieved scores above 200 in the 2025 UTME. Furthermore, less than 1% of the total candidates scored above 300.

The analysis also highlighted the performance of underage candidates, of whom 40,247 were permitted to sit for the exam.

However, only a small fraction, 467 candidates (1.16%), met the threshold for exceptional ability as defined by JAMB. Their performance in subsequent assessment stages is still pending.

The statistics indicated that only 420,415 candidates scored above 200 in the 2025 edition of the UTME,

JAMB also reported that 97 candidates were directly involved in examination infractions, while 2,157 others are currently under investigation for suspected malpractices.

Additionally, 71,701 candidates were recorded as absent during the examination. Candidates facing biometric verification issues are also under investigation, with those cleared to be rescheduled for the exam.

The board noted that the results of a few candidates, including blind candidates and those in the JEOG category, are still being processed.
