PDP South-West unity stance reaffirmed by Governor Makinde, who says the party remains undivided and ready to resolve issues despite rising coalition rumours

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reaffirmed the PDP South-West unity stance, dismissing the threat posed by emerging political coalitions as insignificant.

Speaking in Ibadan after a meeting of the South-West PDP Caucus, Makinde declared the party remains united and undivided in the region.

According to him, PDP leaders have resolved to address internal challenges and strengthen the party.

“We want the whole world to know that the PDP in the South-West is united and we are together and that the coalition is not a threat to the PDP,” the governor said.

He questioned the credibility of those forming new coalitions, asking what they truly offer beyond political recycling.

“Does it mean that anytime they move from one party to the other, they have repented or they have something new to offer the people?” he asked.

Makinde likened the party to a house worth repairing rather than abandoning. “If the roof is leaking… are we going to abandon the building and go somewhere else? No. We will stay inside here and fix it,” he said.

He added that the PDP, as an institution, has structures to resolve internal issues and will emerge stronger. “In a party like the PDP… we have our own ways and means of dealing with such issues,” he said.
