Achraf Hakimi rape case developments continue to unfold as French prosecutors formally request a trial for the Paris Saint-Germain defender. If indicted and convicted, Hakimi could face up to 15 years in prison.

The request to indict was signed on August 1 by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, following over 12 months of investigation. The case stems from a rape allegation made in early 2023.
While the move does not equate to a guilty verdict, it reflects prosecutors’ belief that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial before the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court.
Hakimi, a former Real Madrid and Inter Milan player, was charged with rape by an investigating judge on March 3, 2023. He was placed under judicial supervision following his arrest.
Throughout the process, chraf Hakimi has denied any wrongdoing and maintains his innocence.
