MIPAN reaffirms commitment to innovation and global standards in media planning Nigeria at its 25th AGM, fostering growth and collaboration in the industry

Nigeria’s media planning and buying ecosystem continues to see significant advances in global industry standards and innovation, with MIPAN leading the way.

This renewed commitment was powerfully demonstrated at the association’s 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at The Providence Hotel GRA, Lagos, under the theme “Navigating The Future: AI, Data and The Quest for Value in a Challenging Media Landscape.”

Dozie Okafor, President of MIPAN, delivered a compelling address outlining the organisation’s significant achievements and charting a strategic roadmap for sustained growth within the industry.

The AGM gathered prominent industry leaders, agency heads, planning committee members, and key stakeholders, providing a valuable platform for reflection and future planning.

Central to Okafor’s speech was the association’s steadfast focus on four pillars: advocating for global industry standards, fostering innovation and creativity, investing in technology and data, and enhancing industry collaboration through strong membership benefits.

These pillars have consistently guided MIPAN’s service delivery and shaped its vision for the future.

Reflecting on the association’s progress, Okafor noted, “We have created platforms for continuous education, celebrated creativity and innovation. We have deepened collaboration, forged academic partnerships, and provided tangible benefits to members. While our journey with technology and data is still ongoing, we have already laid out important foundations that will define the future of our industry.”

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, the President emphasised that while not all goals have been completed, the momentum gained demonstrates purposeful progress and resilience.

Success, he stated, goes beyond ticking boxes; it is about sustaining growth while keeping a clear focus on the broader vision.

Expanding on MIPAN’s strategic role, Okafor described the organisation as more than a professional body—positioning it as a custodian of standards, champion of creativity, believer in innovation, and builder of a stronger media ecosystem.

“What we achieve here has ripple effects across businesses, brands, and the nation’s economy,” he remarked.

Looking forward, Okafor painted a visionary picture of Nigeria’s advertising landscape, where global standards underpin operations and campaigns compete seamlessly on the world stage, fuelled by data-driven insights and cutting-edge technology.

This vision, he asserted, is achievable through collective unity, determination, and will. “No executive, no committee, no small group can achieve this alone. The growth we envision requires all of us; our ideas, our energy, our commitment, and our collective will,” he urged.

In conclusion, Okafor challenged members to work smarter, contribute meaningfully, and align with “one voice, one vision, and one purpose” to engineer sustainable growth for MIPAN and the wider media industry in Nigeria.
