Kano Magistrate Court orders TikTokers Mai Wushirya and Basira to marry within 60 days, tasking Hisbah and Censorship Boards to ensure compliance.
A Magistrate Court in Kano State has mandated the State’s Hisbah Board to facilitate the marriage of popular TikTok personalities, Ashiru Idris (Mai Wushirya) and Basira Yar Guda Daya, within a 60-day timeframe.

The ruling was delivered by Magistrate Halima Wali of Court No. 7, who also directed the Kano State Censorship Board to monitor the process and ensure the marriage takes place within the stipulated period.
The court warned that failure to conduct the marriage within the deadline would result in both parties being summoned back for further legal action.
This directive follows the arrest of Mai Wushirya earlier this month by Kano State Censorship Board officials after videos showing him topless and engaging in what authorities described as “immoral and demeaning acts” with Basira Yar Guda Daya went viral on social media.
The court had initially ordered that Mai Wushirya be remanded in a correctional facility for two weeks pending the continuation of the case.
The latest order emphasises that the Hisbah Board must ensure the marriage complies with Islamic and legal provisions.

As of now, neither the Hisbah Board nor the Censorship Board has issued an official response to the court’s order.
