The visitors stunned the home crowd after just six minutes when Efkan Bekiroğlu fired Göztepe ahead, but Osimhen restored parity in the 19th minute after pouncing on a defensive mix-up — his third league goal of the campaign.
The Nigerian forward, who scored twice in Galatasaray’s 3–1 UEFA Champions League victory over Bodø/Glimt last Wednesday, once again proved decisive for Okan Buruk’s side with his relentless pressing and sharp finishing.
Galatasaray took charge in the second half, with Gabriel Sara putting them ahead before captain Mauro Icardi sealed the victory late on to secure all three points.
The result leaves Galatasaray top of the Turkish Super Lig table with 28 points from 11 matches, five ahead of second-placed Trabzonspor. Göztepe, meanwhile, remain fifth with 16 points following only their second defeat of the season.
Sunday’s performance underlined Osimhen’s growing influence since his summer move to Turkey, with the 25-year-old forward now directly involved in five goals across all competitions in his last three appearances.
