Tinubu ministers swearing-in inducts Doro and Udeh, restores cabinet balance, and strengthens investor confidence after Eurobond oversubscription.

Tinubu ministers swearing-in marked a significant step for Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council as President Bola Tinubu officially inducted Dr Bernard Doro and Dr Kingsley Udeh on Thursday. The ceremony took place at 1:52 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, just before the first FEC meeting since July 2025.

The swearing-in restores ministerial representation for Plateau and Enugu states, which had been vacant for several weeks. Doro, a UK-trained clinical practitioner and experienced pharmaceutical and public health administrator, was nominated on October 21 to replace Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, now National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Hailing from Kwall, Bassa LGA of Plateau State, Doro brings over two decades of experience in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and IT-driven health strategy. He holds multiple degrees in Pharmacy, Law, and Advanced Clinical Practice, and has served extensively within the UK’s National Health Service.

Udeh, former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, replaces Uche Nnaji, who resigned amid academic record controversies at the University of Nigeria, Nsuka. Recently conferred as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Udeh was nominated on November 4 and confirmed by the Senate shortly afterwards.

Their induction brings Tinubu’s cabinet to 48 ministers. Following the ceremony, Tinubu presided over the FEC meeting. Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Finance, Wale Edun, highlighted that Nigeria’s return to the international capital market inspired strong investor confidence, with a $2.35-billion Eurobond oversubscribed by 453%, attracting $13 billion in orders.

“The next phase of reforms will remove barriers holding back investors. We will review tariffs and import restrictions to stimulate productivity and investment,” Edun stated. He added that a detailed review of the Federation and federal balance sheets is underway to optimise asset management for inclusive growth.

President Tinubu welcomed the outcome, noting that despite political headwinds, Nigeria continues to strengthen diplomatic ties, engage global partners, and rebuild economic confidence. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism and delivering a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous nation.
